Ridin' Bird to Gird

Today Luke and I went to the temple.  Yay!  We haven't been able to go together in a very long time.

We decided beforehand that we should take our bikes and biking gear with us, so we could go riding after we were done with our session.  We wanted to do Bird to Gird (which means you ride the bike path from Bird Point along the Turnagain Arm to Girdwood...it's about 9 miles each way).

It wasn't very warm, but the cool weather was actually quite nice to ride in.  (Especially with the 300 ft elevation gain right at the beginning...WEAK SAUCE!  Life is so hard at sea level...haha!)
Putting air in the tires.
This was our first ride of the year.  It's sad to think that, but it's true.  It's been a very busy year!
Almost to Girdwood
Once we made it to Girdwood, we ate lunch at the Bake Shop.
The bake shop!  You should know this place by now...as many times as I have posted about it...
The town was packed with people who were there for the Forest Fair, which was going on that weekend.  I told Luke before we went that we should stop at the fair while we were there.  But once we saw how many people there were, we lost all interest in stopping.  We got out as fast as we could!

And when we got home, we had a nap.  What a wonderful Saturday!
