They track the ancestry of celebrities...
Well I don't care so much about them. However, my sister Wendi has been doing some ancestral digging on our family on sites like:
(It's the largest genealogy organization in the world, and is a service provided by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Check it out for yourself at familysearch.org)
Anyway... Wendi found some really cool stuff... Which she shared with me. And now I will share with you. (Lucky...)
One of our great (great-a-lot-of-times-great) grandfathers is Sir John de Kynardesley (1200-1275) from Hereford, England.
But the coolest part is that he was born in Kinnersley Castle.
I think that's SO COOL! (You can see more pictures and read about it at: http://www.kinnersleycastle.co.uk )
My sister also found an ancestor born in the late 1000's!
Now, that's old...
Oh, and another cool ancestor of mine (another great-lot's of greats-grandfather, but not as many as Sir John) is John Alden...who married Priscilla Mullins. They came to America on the Mayflower.
Now, doesn't that make you want to find out who you think you are???

I have been doing genealogy for 16 years, and John Alden is also an ancestor, he is my 15th Great Grandfather.
ReplyDeleteYAY! We're related!
ReplyDeleteJohn Alden is my 14th great grandfather! My uncle is even named John Alden Julis because every first born son in each generation is generally named John Alden
