Monsoon and Concert Season

Luke and I (along with Chantelle and Steven) went to a concert at the Fillmore Auditorium last night in Denver.  The headliner was Owl City with Unwed Sailor and Mat Kearney opening.  (The order I liked the bands are as follows: Mat Kearney-the best!, Owl City-pretty ok, Unwed Sailor-no comment.)

The chandelier looks like a jellyfish, doesn't it???
Toward the end of the concert, we realized it was raining really hard outside.  In fact, there were quite a few people by the doors in the back taking pictures of the river of water running down Colfax.  We figured it would be done raining by the time the concert ended.

Wrong.  We ended up running 2 blocks in the pouring rain to the car where our rain jackets were safely tucked in the backseat.  (And as it turns out, I'm not good at jumping over puddles.  I can only make it about halfway over them...but in my defense they were BIG puddles...)

What a fun memory!  And I just have to say that Chantelle and Steven are HILARIOUS!  We laughed about a lot of things...  We love spending time with them!

Here are some pictures taken last night that I found on some news websites.

Lots of lightning!

This is Speer and Lincoln, but Colfax wasn't much different.
