Today was a big day! I worked/ran the polls again (with 4 other ladies) at Bear Valley Elementary in South Anchorage.
Things went pretty well. My co-chair and I set up a lot of the stuff (tables, chairs, and posters) last night. That really helped things get going today.

| This is what it all looked like Monday night. |
Our optical scanner (the machine that reads the ballots) had some issues throughout the day, but nothing too serious. And in the end all of the numbers balanced out! That was such a relief!
 |
| My job was to make sure the optical scan behaved properly...and to hand out stickers and candy. Fun! |
We were pretty busy throughout the whole day. We never had too long of lines (like the rest of the country) and hardly anyone came during the last hour of voting. Probably because we were open until 8 pm...that's 12 am the next day on the East Coast. So if people went home and started watching the news, they might have thought there's no point to voting (if their candidate wasn't the one ahead). But there were some big changes in our state government, so those votes still would've mattered!
Oh well. It's all over. And I am soooo glad!
