Zombie Half Marathon

I talked my friend Lindsay into doing a half marathon with me.  I didn't want to train though...  Luckily, the race offered a "walking start" that was an hour earlier than the regular start.  We definitely took advantage of that.  And we did run part of the way.  But there's no way I could've run the whole time (like in the other half marathon I did that one time...).

The race started at Goose Lake and ended at Kincaid Park Chalet.  It was really cool to see parts of the Anchorage trail system that I had never seen before.

Here are some pictures...
Westchester Lagoon with the Chugach Mtns. in the back.  (Just past mile 4 where we left Chester Creek Trail and continued on Tony Knowles Coastal Trail.)
Cook Inlet (mostly mudflats though) with Mt. Sustina.  And in the light part you could see the Todrillo Mtns...but they didn't show up in my picture.  Sad!
Lindsay with the Cook Inlet and Fire Island in the background.
Yay!  Only 1 (and .1) mile left to go!  And it was uphill almost the whole way...Lame!
We dressed up as Zombie chefs (and I did some crazy hair and makeup-that lasted through the race...surprisingly enough...)  Brains served fresh daily...Yum. (not really)
I don't think my body appreciates what happened to it today.  I hope I can walk later...
