It seems like everything cool happens BEHIND our house...

My neighbor Lezlie sent me this text tonight:

Northern Lights!  Best Ever!

So of course I ran outside.  (Funny thing is that I was talking to Luke on Skype.  Just like the last time I saw the Northern Lights at my house...)

Anyways, I ran outside and I couldn't see them (the brightness of outdoor lights/street lamps didn't help any).  I went to the back yard.  Still nothing.  I came back inside.

I got another text from Lezlie telling me to come over to her house (which is across the street) and see them.  I asked Luke if he cared and he said no.  (He was trying to finish up some work stuff.)  So, off I went.

And I saw them.  Right behind my house.  Sneaky Northern Lights.  I don't have any pictures this time.  So sorry.

But I do have proof that my app on my phone is lame.
See where it says (at almost the very bottom) 2012/10/12 Quiet Activity...  Well they were SO WRONG!  It was actually a Level 6.  (According to the Aurora Forecaster on Facebook...)

Oh well, at least I still got to see them.  Thanks to my wonderful neighbor!

And here are some pictures from Alaska Dispatch of the Northern Lights show:

Talkeetna:
Anchorage: (I guess it's considered a really good show if you can see them over the city lights in town...)

And Palmer:

(All of these images were from the slideshow at the end of this article on Alaska Dispatch...)
