One thing that I think I failed to mention in last year's post is my awesome American flag.
In the days following the 9/11 attacks, I decided I wanted to hang a flag up in the window of the house my roommates and I were living in. Unfortunately everyone else in the Provo/Orem (Utah) area (and the rest of the country for that matter) did too. I couldn't find a flag anywhere!
So I did what anyone else would do, I called my mom. She had a flag on hand that she would send me. (Yes. She's that good.) And since then I've always had this flag displayed somewhere in my place of residence.
We live in a wonderful country! I feel so blessed to be an American!
Now on the the blueberries.
My friend Lindsay invited me on another last minute trip up to Hatcher Pass to pick some blueberries. (We drove up there with two of our other friends--Joelyn and Erin T.)
I'm so glad I put aside everything else that I thought I "needed" to do and joined the adventure. It was so much fun!
The bushes were pretty picked over, but we were able to find some berries...one bush in particular was extremely good, and made the trip that much more fun...for me at least. (As it turns out, I may be sort of a fair weather berry-picker...but I feel much more "Alaskan" now. That's for sure!)

| All clean! (Stemming them and cleaning them took longer than picking them...not really, but I was in the mood to be dramatic...) |
