After the Break-up...It's Spring!

So...recently we discovered that we have flowerbeds in our front yard.  (It's amazing what can hide under 6+ feet of snow!!!)  (It's also amazing how much closer the mailbox is now that we don't have to walk around all the huge piles of snow...)

Anyway, lately we've been having some beautiful sunny weather (with highs in the 50s...and 15 hours of sunlight...jealous??).  I've been trying to spend as much time outside as possible.

Today, while I was outside, I decided to clean up the flowerbeds.  I even found some stuff trying to grow...I can't wait to see what it is...that is if it survives!!!

Whatever it is..it's growing!
This is the flowerbed at the end of the walkway that goes to the front door.
This is the flowerbed on the other side of the driveway.  Along with a nice pile of snow that's still hanging around.
I still need to work on cleaning up the grass and weeds around the rocks, but I think it looks a lot better than it did before.  (Of course I didn't take any before pictures...my bad!)

Oh, but guess what?

Mosquitos!

Everywhere!

And, with all the standing water/swampiness from the snow melting, they are thriving!

Maybe we will need to get Kevlar clothing...  Until then, there's this:

Hooray for insect repellent!  I have a feeling we will be using this a lot...
Oh.  I found out today that April is National grilled cheese month.  (When I told Luke that, he hoped that it overlapped with National Tomato Soup Awareness Month...haha!  Funny!...but really...it should!)

So now I feel the need to eat a grilled cheese sandwich!  Or at least look at one.

Doesn't this look amazing???

found it on Pinterest...but it comes from here
Oh man.  I might have to do some grilled cheese experimenting tomorrow.
