Cross Country Skiing

Saturday afternoon we went cross country skiing at Beach Lake Park in Chugiak (the town just north of Eagle River).  They have really nice nordic ski trails there.

This was my first time skiing.  Ever.  It was awkward.  And I did fall.  But it was a lot of fun.

We went on the easy trails for the most part.  There was one hill* which was scary (well I thought it was scary)...and that's where my first fall was .  After that I did pretty good.  Oh, until I suggested (emphasis on the "I suggested" part...) we go on a trail that hadn't been groomed so we could enjoy some fresh powder.

That's where I fell down 3 more times.

Not only was there a hill.  There was a hill AND a turn at the same time**.  Mean.

*Don't worry we went back to the first hill, and I didn't fall the second time.  Victory!

**Did not conquer the hill/turn combo this trip...Not a fan.

It was a beautiful afternoon!  We had so much fun!
