Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about posting my notes from Time Out for Women...I have just been preoccupied with other things. (Like playing words with friends, and watching Downton Abbey while putting away things in our house.)
But I thought I should write an update from "up North".
This is a little peek into what I brought back to Alaska in my suitcase last week:
Yes. Scensty candle wax bars...and a gun. I doubt that combo will ever happen again. But then again, you just never know!
And this is a picture out of Luke's window at work:
The North Slope of flatness....but notice the sun is shining! Luke is grateful he works all the time. There's not anything else to do up there! At least it isn't as cold as it was last time he was there. (Still, I'm sure warm thoughts directed his way would be much appreciated.)
(Heck, warm thoughts directed MY way wouldn't be so bad either. :) We have a few more months of solid winter left. I'm not sure that has sunk in yet...we don't get 60+ degree sunny weather breaks here like we did in Colorado...)
Everything is still very icy, and we got about 3 or 4 inches of new snow the other day to go on top of the ice. But, let me tell you how much I love studded snow tires. Life would be a lot harder without them!
P.S. Luke saw a caribou at work the other day! Lucky! And we officially ate moose meat on Sunday. It was delicious! It tasted a lot like hamburger, and not game-y at all. (Our neighbor gave us the moose meat to try. He also gave us moose sausage and goat sausage to try, too. We haven't gotten to those yet. But, I will let you know what we think. :)
