Today was snow tire day...as well as Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We made our way to Costco to see if they had some tires. They didn't have the ones we needed, so we went to Johnson's Tire. They had a wonderful set of studded snow tires that we chose for our car. See how wonderful they are-
While we were out driving we saw this guy--who possibly has the worst job of all time-
The high today was about 0 degrees. That's warmer than it was yesterday, but still really cold.
After we got our fancy new tires, as well as a newfound confidence in driving the icy and snowy streets...we went to the grocery store. The grocery store we went to happened to be a part of a shopping mall. That was a new and different experience. It was a Carr's/Safeway store. We got a new Safeway club card that gives us Alaska Airline miles (awesome!).
When we were leaving the mall we saw this little guy--no, not Luke, the bear-
That's a Kodiak bear. And I decided the only way I ever want to see the live version is through a pair of binoculars!
Just another day in Alaska.
