To Utah...Again :)

I can't believe July is here already...  Luke and I went to Utah today.  Hooray!

On our way we stopped at Cafe Rio in Vernal to use the coupon for a free meal that Luke got while running the Ragnar Relay.  We got a sweet pork salad to share.  MMMMM...delicious!

Then we went to the Vernal Temple to do an endowment session.

This is the temple where I received my endowments on January 27, 2007.  It's a beautiful temple!  (Fun fact- when I was 16, I was an usher in this temple during the Open House.)

After our stop in Vernal, it was off to Tabiona.  This weekend is the Tabiona Days Rodeo and celebration.  My sister Kerri asked me to help in the Grand Entry...I didn't think she was serious.  But she was.

So we rolled in at about 6 p.m., just as Kerri and her family were getting ready to leave for the rodeo grounds.  I changed clothes and we left right behind them.  I rode my niece's horse Ellie.  I had barely enough time to warm up the horse in the arena and get some vague directions on what I was supposed to do.

I wasn't too thrilled with my performance, but there's always tomorrow night!  :)  Here are some pictures of the fun.

Our niece Kaelyn giving me some directions on what I was supposed to do.
I carried the Air Force flag. (2nd one from the left) Kerri is in front with the American flag, and Kaelyn is the first on the left with the Marines flag.
The horses didn't get the memo about the straight line...
Our niece Kenleigh, the Tabiona Rodeo Princess.
Running out of the arena with a flag is harder than it looks.  (See low clearance gate...)
Our nephew Kolton riding a mini bull.
Travis and Kolton in the hide race.  They got second!
Donkey roping=hilarious!
We love rodeos!

Kaelyn ran barrels in the slack after the rodeo.  She did well, but she couldn't get her horse Barney to take the first barrel tight enough.  I wish I would have taken a picture of her...oh well.  Next time!
