Karrick and I went to the Anchorage art museum today for a "local Alaska" craft fair. I went with a specific purpose--to get birch syrup and birch candies for Christmas presents. I also ended up buying some children's books...
Admission to the museum was free, so we could've explored more, but I stuck to the fair...and the room where my favorite Sidney Lawrence painting is located (which Karrick didn't care much about--see below).
It was super cold outside--like -20 cold. I parked as close as I could to the museum and walked as fast as I could (while pushing a stroller through snow and ice...) Karrick did great. He tolerated being wrapped up in a blanket and his face covered up while we traversed the streets of Anchorage.
Luke would've joined us but he got invited to go ice fishing and given the choice between a craft fair or being outside...no, really there is no choice. Only the obvious--OUTSIDE! Even in the freezing temps...outside is his preference. Besides, how does the saying go?? There's no such thing as bad weather, only bad gear... And we are fully equipped for the cold! I would post pics of his fish, but I don't think he took any. He did catch fish, however. Or so he says... :)
