Luke and I drove to Anchorage today. While we were going along the Eagle River Loop Road, I glanced over to a meadow along the road to see if there were any moose (I have seen moose there in the past, so I've made it a habit to always look over when we drive by).
Anyway, I did see something. But it wasn't a moose. It was a lot darker, and there were multiple dark things.
As soon as we passed by, I told Luke that "I think I just saw a bear...or two..."
So we turned around and drove back by. And sure enough there were 3 black bears-a sow and 2 cubs.
I wanted to get closer for some better pictures, but Luke said "no way! Absolutely not!".
He's wise.
Just think...I could've been in the news...like this guy:
Bear-Mauling Survivor Thankful to be Alive
But that was a brown bear...these were black bears...totally different, right?
Luke still says no.
