Well I have a feeling that is about to change.
Yard sales are HUGE here! And there are a lot of "moving"/ "everything must go" sales...which I've heard are the best ones.
Today was my first Alaska yard sale adventure.
My friend Lindsay and I went up to the valley (Wasilla/Palmer area) to see what we could find.
We started in Wasilla, and I found something cool at the first place we went.
And then I totally bought it!
It's a WHITE brand sewing table (machine not included...which was just fine with me...).
I was so excited! I had the perfect place in mind for it in the house. And it fit perfectly!!! Happy day!!!
I'm still working on decorating it...but this is what it looks like so far:
In the picture frame (which I also got at a yard sale today) I put a picture of my Grandma White (who was a professional seamstress...perfect!), a bottle of thread from my Grandma Kotter, a wooden box my sister got me from Spain, and a doily that my mom made. It's a work in progress, so don't be surprised if it looks different later.
I also saw a bear for sale today.
Awesome! Only in Alaska could you buy something like this at a yard sale...right??? (It's so cool that we live here!)
Too bad i didn't have 900 dollars burning a hole in my pocket...
Maybe next time...haha!
And while we were out I took some pictures of the area. I took these pics by the sale the bear was at- somewhere in between Palmer and Wasilla...
| I think that's Pioneer Peak. Don't quote me on that though! And, that's farm land out in front...it's not flat though...weird! |
| More mountains and not-flat-farmland. |
The first of many, I am sure!
