Hotel Alyeska

Luke has a work conference today in Girdwood, Alaska...home of Alyeska (al-YES-ka) resort and hotel (where his conference is and where we get to stay tonight).

(No, we're not going skiing or boarding on this trip.  Next time.)

The hotel is really really nice!  And Girdwood is beautiful!

The ceiling in the hotel lobby is really cool-

There's a bear statue at the top of the stairs that could be scary...if you're not paying attention-

The hotel is a base for Chugach Powder Guides (they do helicopter and snowcat ski trips).  And I noticed some really fat skis around this place-

(Those k2 skis are huge!  The picture doesn't quite do it justice...)

Here are some more pictures I have taken-

Oh!  They have a tram here...Thus the Alyeska Tramway sign and the tram house pic (bottom right).

I also found a fun game.  Well, I think it will be fun.  I'm excited to play it.  (Too bad Luke is busy!)

There's a moose in the house.  That's a real possibility around here!  :)
