While Luke and I were on the hut trip, we saw an animal we had never seen before.
We were in our room the morning of March 18th holding our cell phones out the window so we could get reception... (Don't laugh... We had to find out if BYU won their first round game in the NCAA Tournament... Which they did, so all was well.) The morning was beautiful and sunny. It had snowed the day before, and through the night so there was about a foot of fresh powder outside.
We saw a curious animal come out of the trees. It paused for a second, bounded through the snow across the trail, paused again, and then disappeared into the trees. We both had never seen such an animal before.
There was a wildlife poster in the room we were staying in, and there was an exact picture on the poster of what we saw. Under the picture it said: Weasel. So, all this time we thought we saw a weasel...a ginormous weasel.
We were telling Luke's dad about it yesterday at lunch, and that got us wondering if it really was a weasel, a badger, or something else. Well, we did some investigating and it turns out we did see a member of the weasel family. The largest member of the weasel family.
Which is a wolverine.
That's right. A wolverine. Isn't that so cool?!? They are very rare, so not many people get to see them. Now you know two people who have. (If you would like, we will send you our autographs...for a fee of course...)
Of course when we saw it, we didn't have our camera ready, so I will share some images compliments of the world wide web.
Luke filled out a wildlife observation form with the Colorado Division of Wildlife. Since wolverines are so rare, we thought it would be good to give them a heads up where one lives :)
And that is my cool story.
Now on to the "lift. tone, burn"...
A month ago I bought a Groupon for 3 fitness classes at a place called Pure Barre. (I was excited and scared at the same time...I have heard it referred to as pure hell...)
Today I finally went. It as hard. It was also kind of fun. But now my hip flexors are mad at me.
The lifting and the toning and the burning....
I survived though. And I will go back.
