Baur's and Traces

Tonight, we had tickets to a show called Traces.  We went with Chantelle and Steven.  Before the show we ate dinner at Baur's- which is about two blocks from the Denver Performing Arts Complex (which was where Traces was playing).

Chantelle and Steven
It was fun to eat there!  It's not a restaurant we would normally eat at...seeing as how it's pretty expensive.  But we got a coupon from TravelZoo that made it a lot more affordable...

The coupon covered an appetizer, two regular entrees, and two desserts.  (Chantelle and Steven also had a coupon...so we didn't even have to share with them...)

I didn't take a picture of the appetizer...but it was still good!  We chose a hot cheese with pita bread to dip in it.

My delicious Bacon Wrapped Filet Mignon with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus
Luke's New York Strip Steak with sauteed onions and mushrooms and garlic potatoes

My dessert- NY Cheesecake with strawberries and caramel sauce

Luke's dessert- MYJA pie (chocolate pudding in a shortbread shell with toffee and whip cream on top)

After all the deliciousness for dinner we were off to the show.  It was SO cool!  (And we were right right right by the stage.  We got to see it all up close.)

Traces is a group out of Quebec, Canada.  They do tricks and acrobatics.  Very Cirque de Soleil-esque (most of the 7 preformers went to circus school in Canada...oh great Luke's going to want to go there now too...  ha ha :)

Here, you can see the amazingness for yourself:

You have until May 14 to go see it for yourselves!  DO IT...

It was such a fun date night!  One of the best parts was a conversation we had on the way home.  It went a little like this:

(We are all in the car at the gate that goes into Chan and Steven's apartment complex...)
Steven:  Just push the only button that doesn't have any paint on it anymore over and over until the gate opens.
Me:  Luke goes to spy school.  He will figure it out.
Luke:  Imagine all the cryptography you would have to learn in spy school.
Steven:  That's a lot of algorithms....
Chantelle:  Did you say Al-Gore-rhythms?  I don't really like Al Gore..
Manda:  That sounds like a playlist... Al Gore Rhythms
Chantelle:  Maybe a dance club...
Luke: (dancing in the drivers seat and doing beat boxing)
Steven: That's why there's such a problem with global warming...  Al Gore's so hot right now.

And oh, how we laughed...
